The P. Cubensis Burmese variety is a strain originating in Southeast Asia. The story goes that mycologist John Allen was presented this variety by a Thai student who spotted this variety growing out of Buffalo dung near the City of Rangoon. This variety is known to be a more potent variety and mycologists have reported anywhere from dense, taller growing fruiting bodies to medium density fruiting bodies. Our mycologist friends have said the Burmese mycelium tends to quickly colonize substrate. The caps of the fruiting bodies tend to be lighter at the edge of the cap and get darker towards the top.
Spores appear to be a dark purplish brown.
